LIM SAS, LIM LOGGING LIM GROUP LIM SAS was incorporated in 1985 near Lyon in France, by Mr. Frédéric Malinet , a geologist. The LIM SAS corporate objects are the design, manufacture and marketing of measuring instruments and software applied to drilling for following purposes, geotechnical, special foundations, drill and blast, mining and hydrogeological exploration. To complete its product offering, on January 1, 2017 LIM SAS integrated Electromind , a company based in Luxembourg and specialized in the development, manufacture and marketing of logging (borehole geophysical) equipment. The NanoLIM is a drilling parameter logger that provides a simple and effective alternative for geotechnical and small foundation applications. The GEOTECH version combines the DRILLING and PRESSIO versions. The PressioLIM AUTO is a Pressure Volume Controller (PVC) which allows a pressuremeter test to be carried out in automatic or semi-automatic mode using controlled solenoid valves. GRT38, Gamma ray temperature probe. GRT38: Natural Gamma + Temperature + CCL In addition to its primary role as a lithological or clay indicator, a natural gamma measurement is frequently used as the basis for establishing correlations between boreholes and to ensure accurate depth matching between different logging runs made in the same borehole. For these reasons, many LIM LOGGING probes provide this measurement as an additional log along with other parameters. The GRT38 probe provides a solution for cases where only a basic, total counts natural gamma log is required and also provides a borehole fluid temperature measurement useful for correcting certain other logs. Based on a ø25 x 50 mm NaI(Tl) scintillation crystal detector coupled to a high-performance photomultiplier tube, the probe boasts excellent sensitivity (±1.2 cps / API unit) and provides a high quality final result. PDS, Probe Deployment System, Borehole logging horizontal boreholes, Borehole logging upward boreholes. PDS: Probe Deployment System The PDS allows OPTV and BHTV imaging probes and certain other types of probe to be deployed in steeply inclined, horizontal or up-holes, where assistance from a drilling machine is required. It has been successfully used in boreholes exceeding 400 m in length. The main housing containing the probe is manufactured from aluminium and the standard kit includes 2 x 2 m aluminium rods to allow imaging probes to operate in non magnetically disturbed conditions. A variety of nose cones, adapted to different types of probe, and housing centraliser blades for boreholes of up to 150 mm diameter can be supplied. Behind the housing the logging cable runs along the outside of the drill rods (AQ or BQ recommended). The drill rod adapter incorporates a centraliser to support the weight of the drill string. IP38: Induced Polarisation The formations surrounding the borehole are subjected to an alternative square-wave voltage applied via the upper and lower injection electrodes. Following each injection cycle, the resulting potential difference over a section of the formations is analysed as it decreases with time. The form of this decreases curve is related to the chargeability of the formations. A high chargeability indicates that induced electrochemical potentials are able to develop within the formations as a result of ion transfer between pore fluids and semi-conductive metallic mineral grains present within the rocks. The IP38 probe is particularly suitable for mining exploration in the context of a disseminated sulphide mineralisation.
