LIM GROUP

LIM SAS was incorporated in 1985 near Lyon in France, by Mr. Frédéric Malinet, a geologist.
​
The LIM SAS corporate objects are the design, manufacture and marketing of measuring instruments and software applied to drilling for following purposes, geotechnical, special foundations, drill and blast, mining and hydrogeological exploration.
​
To complete its product offering, on January 1, 2017 LIM SAS integrated Electromind, a company based in Luxembourg and specialized in the development, manufacture and marketing of logging (borehole geophysical) equipment.

Electromind became LIM LOGGING.
​
Beyond the simple design of measuring instruments, by offering hardware and software, LIM is positioned as a provider of complete solutions for the measurement and acquisition of drilling data, whether during drilling or in boreholes after their completion.

LIM SAS & LIM LOGGING’s main business areas are Special Foundations, Geotechnics, Hydrogeology, Mining and Extractive Industries as well as Underground Work (Tunnels).

Creation of the company LIM SAS by Frederic Malinet
1986
Release of the PressioLIM. On-site production launch of the LIM8000, the very first fully digital parameter recorder (8 parameters recorded on magnetic media).
February 1990
To complete this second generation of devices, the LIM3000 and LIM4000S were released, based on patent FR 2 657 964 of February 6, 1990.
January 2000
Launch of the fourth generation (4G) of devices, evolving towards a graphical screen and, most importantly, integrating CAN BUS technology — a feature LIM is still the only company to offer as standard.
MAY 2006
Integration of a TFT color display with touchscreen technology and ARM Linux Kernel for the 5th generation apparatus (5G)
2009
Revolution for the management of the recorded data thanks to the automatic synchronization with an internet server, in 2009, with the launch in production of the 5th Generation (5G)

PressioLIM HP (High Pressure pressiometer, up to 130 bar, available in both manual and automatic versions).
Addition of the Lithology option on PocketLIM, allowing field logs and borehole reports to be entered directly on the recorder.

Launch of the second generation (2G) of equipment, starting with the LIM8000S (8 parameters, with for the first time, data storage on static memory), leveraging patent FR 2 593 606 of January 29, 1986.
July 1992
Launch of the third generation (3G) of devices (FORALIM II) and various associated applications (Drilling, Grouting, Compaction, Jet Grouting), based on patent FR 2 694 399 of July 31, 1992.
A major innovation was introduced: the use of a thermal printer in a field recorder.
January 2003
Wireless data transmission (GSM/GPRS) and the implementation of the GSMail system, which, automatically and for the first time, allows data transfer, report generation, and email distribution.
