    EM25, Single induction probe. EM25: Single Induction (small diameter) The Slim Single Focused Induction EM25 sonde uses a three-coil focused electromagnetic array to provide a conductivity log . An oscillating high frequency magnetic field from a transmitter coil inside the probe induces an alternating electrical current within the surrounding conductive formation. This current, in turn, induces a voltage within receiver coils in the probe proportional to the formation conductivity. The transmitter-receiver spacings determine the depth of investigation of the measurements. Additional focusing coils minimize the contribution of the borehole signal. The sonde coil spacings are optimized to achieve high vertical resolution and a deep radius of investigation, with minimal borehole influence when logging in conductive-fluid-filled boreholes.     The DIL38 induction conductivity probe generates an electromagnetic field and provide two simultaneous conductivity logs. DIL38: Double Induction The DIL38 induction conductivity probe generates an electromagnetic field in the vicinity of the borehole and measures the response of the formations to this applied field. On both long (ILD) and medium spacing (ILM) receivers in-phase and quadrature measurements are taken and digitised by the probe electronics for transmission to the surface equipment. In this way both formation conductivity and magnetic susceptibility data can obtained, even in dry or PVC equipped boreholes. The relatively low operating frequency and the design of the coil array combine to minimise borehole effects and maximise both depth of investigation and vertical resolution.     PDS, Probe Deployment System, Borehole logging horizontal boreholes, Borehole logging upward boreholes. PDS: Probe Deployment System The PDS allows OPTV and BHTV imaging probes and certain other types of probe to be deployed in steeply inclined, horizontal or up-holes, where assistance from a drilling machine is required. It has been successfully used in boreholes exceeding 400 m in length. The main housing containing the probe is manufactured from aluminium and the standard kit includes 2 x 2 m aluminium rods to allow imaging probes to operate in non magnetically disturbed conditions. A variety of nose cones, adapted to different types of probe, and housing centraliser blades for boreholes of up to 150 mm diameter can be supplied. Behind the housing the logging cable runs along the outside of the drill rods (AQ or BQ recommended). The drill rod adapter incorporates a centraliser to support the weight of the drill string.
