DTN38, Dual Neutron thermal probe, neutron neutron, dual neutron. DTN38: Dual Thermal Neutron The standard DTN38 probe provides long-(LSN) and short-spaced(SSN) 4π thermal neutron measurements. Since the probe reacts strongly to hydrogen content, the principal application of this method is for formation water content (porosity) measurement. As an option (highly recommended), the probe can be supplied with a natural g amma detector to permit the influence of clay content on the results to be evaluated. Useful when the probe is deployed for through-tubing oil/water/air contact measurements, a casing collar locator (CCL) detector is also available as a factory-fitted option for this probe. The GR38 measure the relative naturally occurring radiation adjacent to the well hole providing well-run correlation and lithological identification. GR38 & GR25: Natural Gamma Radioactivity In addition to its primary role as a lithological or clay indicator , a Natural Gamma measurement is frequently used as the basis for establishing correlations between boreholes and to ensure accurate depth matching between different logging runs made in the same borehole. For these reasons, many LIM LOGGING probes provide this measurement as an additional log along with other parameters. The GR38 & GR25 probes provide a solution for cases where only a basic, total counts natural gamma log is required. Based on a ø25 x 50 mm NaI(Tl) and ø12.7 x 50 mm NaI(Tl) scintillation crystal detectors coupled to a high-performance photomultiplier tube, the probes boast excellent sensitivity (±1.2 cps / API unit) and provide a high quality final result. The GYR38 is a gyroscopic bore deviation sensor specifically designed for demanding drilling and mining environments. It allows determining the orientation and angular movements of an object in space. These sensors are used in many applications, ranging from smartphones to ship stabilization systems. The GYR38 is a gyroscopic borehole deviation probe specifically designed for the demanding environments of drilling and mining operations. This north-seeking device (for probe inclination values between 3° and 177° from vertical) accurately provides continuous trajectory data in non-vertical boreholes. A north search time of only 2 minutes and a 60-minute measurement time between corrections help maximize operational efficiency. The GYR38 probe operates in wired mode via our proven eMindLogger acquisition unit. The borehole azimuth and inclination from the IMU are displayed in real time at the surface in our standard 6CH logging software.
