ScanLIM LIBS - JV LIM-ABLATOM Our ScanLIM LIBS option project aims to combine high-precision optical digitisation for the geologist and the metal content of drill cores for the miner by miniaturising LIBS (Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) technology. The economic aim of our project is to make this dual tool (optical and LIBS technology) transportable, so as to reduce sample (core) analysis times by being as close as possible to the drilling machine. All that will be required is a basic shelter such as a site core box with a power source. This proximity between the core extraction site and the on-site optical and LIBS analysis of the samples will save time and money, as it avoids the need to send all or part of the core boxes to the Chemical Analysis Laboratory to obtain the desired results.
